Beaching It With Pucci

I have always been a HUGE fan of Pucci but after spending a weekend with my Pucci beach bunny Kim Wolf, she has inspired me to write a post about the beautiful bikinis, cover ups and of course their fabulous beach totes!

I love the vibrant palette of colors and their signature geometric prints. Here are a few of my favorite pieces that you can find online now! These pieces should be worn individually so you don’t over due the statement. And you definitely don’t want to be all matchy-matchy.

Weekend Destination: Montauk, NY

Summer is my favorite season! Not only can I wear short shorts and sun dresses but it’s all about surf and sand! One of my favorite beaches on the East Coast is Montauk, located at the very tip of Long Island, NY. We have been going there for July 4th weekend the last few years. So naturally when this time of the year comes, we gather a group and head out east!

The town is known for it’s laid-back attitude, endless summer vibe and great surfing!

One of my favorite places to stay and play at is The Surf Lodge. We actually looked at getting married here! The rooms are adorable and they always have summer concerts and other outdoor festivities out on their deck.

If you head out to Montauk, I highly recommend staying here! *Side note..if you love the beachy-chic style as much as I do, you must check out the boutiques.

Covet Shop Helps Colin’s Kids Heal Hearts!

Recently we had the privilege to get involved with an amazing charity organization called Colin’s Kids. Colin’s Kids is a non-profit organization that focuses their efforts towards raising awareness and research funds for Congenital Heart Disease. The event took place on June 20th at the Apawamis Club in Rye, New York. Charity goers partook in a day of golf, dinner, raffles, and silent auctions.

We were thrilled to donate a Chanel and a Tory Burch bag to be auctioned at the event!  Additionally, 10% of all purchases that supporters make on Covetshop.com will be donated to Colin’s Kids. Supporters can also donate their own designer clothing or accessories to Covet Shop and 50% of all proceeds will go to Colin’s Kids!

Sara comes with a background in both Fine Arts and Fashion (not a bad combination). We drilled her with a few questions so we (and you) can get to know her a little better…

CS: What inspires you?

SV: Music inspires me…I love old rock ranging from Metallica to Tom Petty to The Cure. (see metal necklace below)

CS: Who are your favorite designers?

SV: Prada, Ann Demeulemeester, Elie Saab and Proenza Schouler.

CS: What is your favorite fashion item?

SV: Accessories but I love jewelry!  I spend my free time making some of my own! I also have a bit of a weakness for handbags…but what girl doesn’t?!

The Zooey (Deschanel) Sunglasses…

Zooey Deschanel is one of our favorite actresses, musicians, and fashion icons! Remember her in that great flick 500 Days of Summer?! We got really excited when we came across this pair of Zooey sunglasses. This collaboration with Oliver Peoples created one of the most sought after sunglasses of the season! The vintage-inspired frame is both edgy and sophisticated. The black plastic frames have ridged metal plagues on both sides.

Wedding Inspirations By Grace Kelly

Since I am in full on wedding mode AND wedding season is upon us, I thought I would do one more post on other wedding gowns that are inspired by the iconic Grace Kelly.

As Princess Catherine’s wedding gown was revealed last week, we all took notice of the similarity to the wedding gown Grace Kelley wore (rumor has it that a replica is being made). Back in December 2010, Nicole Richie also wore a custom wedding gown by Marchesa, inspired by Grace Kelly.

You can’t get Nicole’s dress as it was custom made for her (ah the beauty of being a star!). But you can get a similar style that is part of Marchesa’s Spring 2012 Bridal Collection. It doesn’t have the beauty of the lace top and sleeves but it is still to die for!

When Ivanka Trump married Jared Kushner in 2009, she wore a custom made Vera Wang inspired by Grace Kelly.

Royal Wedding Dress(es)

Leading up to the Royal Wedding, there has been so much talk about what the future Princess will be wearing! So when Kate Middleton finally debuted “the gown” for the world to see, it is no surprise that her wedding dress is astonishingly beautiful!

The stunning Alexander McQueen creation by Sarah Burton has intricate lace appliqué bodice and sleeves – very much inspired by the wedding gown worn by Grace Kelly!

Her dress is simply elegant, beautiful and perfect for a Princess!

Kate changed into a reception dress also by Sarah Burton. I personally love her Grace Kelly inspired dress so much more! I wouldn’t have taken that stunner off!

Pippa Middleton, Kate’s sister, also wore a gown by Ms. Burton from Alexander McQueen. And like Kate, she looked absolutely stunning!
